Want to be a pilot with nursing major?

I will be an AFROTC cadet this fall. I have a high interest in becoming a pilot and i meet all the prerequisites. They say your major doesn't matter to become a pilot but i feel that they will automatically take me as nurse with a nursing degree. Is there any chance i can still get a pilot slot?
