ammianus is not entirely correct--while The Mummy is fictitious, it has elements of reality in it. For example, there have been multiple cities named Thebes, one of which was in Egypt. There is a French Foreign Legion. There was a "Great War;" in America today, we know it as WWI. Most of the rest of that stuff is made up, or greatly exaggerated.
