Does anyone here remember when stars like Errol Flynn and Ava Gardner were popular?

Were they all over gossip columns and newspapers? Was Errol really the Charlie sheen of his day? Can you reccomend any good old hollywood forums and sites besides IMDB(that place can get very trollish and agressive). Im 20 and I have recently started loving classic movies and older movies.
