I need help identifying a song....PLEASE HELP!?

Okay. I've had this song stuck in my head for a couple days now. It's clearly a love song about a love/hate relationship. The guy singing says something about "she loves the way I hit her" or something like that. For the longest time I thought that it was by Stone Temple Pilots, but during my recent research, apperently it isn't....or I'm too stupid to know what the hell I'm looking for. It's a rock song if it helps. It really wasn't released recently. I'm thinking that it was maybe in the late 90s early 2000s. If you could help me it would be soooo appriciated. Thanks so much!!
